There's a lot of talented couturiers in the Philippines, not only in Manila. But what made Paolo Blanco the one?

I'm sure there's a lot of things you wanted to ask like:

How did we get to know Paolo? What made him the one to design our wedding gowns and suits?

To tell you the truth, I had other designer in mind until RNEP's recommendation (Rita Neri Event Planner).

There’s a lot of Filipino Designers that are globally competitive.

But we’re grateful that we chose Paolo Blanco.

I looked up for his profile on Facebook (so by now, you might think that I'm a stalker.. but no... it's thanks to Google, really!) and found out that he does gowns for Beauty Queens! And as I was browsing on some photos on his public albums, I saw one of the red gowns that he made, and that looked like the gown I have in mind. And I said, “yeap: he's the one!”

Paolo and I studied from the same University, but we were in different college and year. Knowing that, I was sure that I will be well taken care of. Fellow Thomasian, yay! (Same goes with Jeff Galang and Marilen Jimenez!)

We met Paolo in May 2018, I already have my style in mind. When we first met him in the lounge of Conrad Hotel- Manila, Joseph was so happy to meet a good designer that when I came back from the powder room, I found out that he already asked for 2 suits to be made! The following day, we met again in RNEP’s office in Makati and he sketched the gowns for me and the suits for Joseph. He showed us options for the materials he would want to use so we can have the idea and have the feel for it.

Here's the link on what we showed him:

Our second fitting was in August, when we flew to Manila to have our photoshoot. There were minor adjustments made but all in all, was pretty close to getting a perfect fit. We thought we could bring the outfits to Singapore but he needed more time.

We got our gown and suit for Singapore around October and considering we only had one final fitting, it was a perfect fit! My Singapore gown has custom embroidery with linear pattern embellished with beads and crystals, and the fabric is Ivory Neoprene.

Here are the photos!

For Manila Wedding, my gown has two looks so I don’t need to change to another gown for the banquet.

It’s stylish, timeless and functional. I chose something that would be very easy for me when I need to go to the powder room; though some of the brides would prefer a mermaid cut or an A line cut, it’s all up to you. I just needed a gown that looks classic and functional at the same time.

I had the 2nd and final fitting 2 days before the wedding. By the way, when I fit the gown in August 2018, it doesn’t have any bead works yet, so I wasn’t sure of what would the outcome be until Paolo showed it to me, when he brought it to the hotel room, for my final fitting. It is so lovely, I’d re-wear both gowns for a gazillion times! (Singapore gown was also so beautiful, I kept trying it on even before the wedding day and I didn’t change immediately even when the banquet was over).

(You’re probably wondering how I kept my weight constant? That’s for another blog!)

Paolo also gave me a bridal robe as a present as well as a beautiful custom made bridal bag. (Bag not in the photo)

The embroidery of the gown for Manila Wedding is custom made, embellished with Japanese cut beads and crystals and the fabric is Italian Silk Gazaar in Ivory Color. (Photos below: My gown is still shining and shimmering even on black and white image! I love it!)

For Joseph’s suits, I didn’t manage to ask for the details, but Joseph has styles in mind already, and Paolo helped him design suits that would compliment him. One was light grey in colour, the Manila wedding was in Jet Black colour and Joseph asked for another suit, which was in dark Blue colour.

All were perfectly fitting for him; considering that we only had 2 fittings. It’s magnificent!

**With these things in mind, I could say that Paolo is definitely one great designer!. He made my wedding dream gowns come to life! And made Joseph look like a debonair. Something that I cherish and will remember for the rest of my life. Paolo, thank you for making me feel like a Beauty Queen! And for helping me in some of my woes for my entourage gowns!

And if he asked me to model the gowns he made for me in one of his bridal collection shows in Manila or Singapore, I’m more than willing to do it! ❤️🤭🙋🏼‍♀️

**For our pre wedding shoot, Jeff managed to let me wear one of Paolo Blanco’s beautiful Red Gown

For our beautiful bridesmaids, Paolo did four of the gowns. When you look closely, each of gown has different color and style, with custom made embroidery and elegant beads that still look cohesive and sophisticated. He chose the style for each of them according to their body figure. (Also, I liked the fact that my gown also looked flow-y and light.)

Thank you Paolo, more powers to you!

🙌🏻 Love love love your works! Also, thank you to your hardworking team in placing all of the bead works to make my bridesmaids and specially my gowns, look so lovely and dainty! God Bless you more!

With Love,

Joseph and Marieta
